From Gallery Wild -

In Reflections, Dan Friday invites viewers into a personal and cultural journey shaped by heritage, transformation, and the enduring power of craft. A member of the Lummi Nation and lifelong resident of the Puget Sound, Friday blends Coast Salish traditions with contemporary glassblowing techniques to create works that are both deeply rooted and forward-looking. His sculptures—bears, fish, totemic forms, and more—glow with life, spirit, and story.

Dan Friday - Bear

Drawing from a lineage of artists and tribal leaders, Friday honors the memory of his great-grandfather, a totem pole carver, while reinterpreting ancestral motifs through molten glass. His pieces often feature clean lines, subtle silhouettes, and symbolic gestures that speak to shared history and personal growth. For Friday, glass is more than a medium—it’s a calling. As he puts it, “Glass altered my life… I found my passion.”

Dan Friday - Salmon

Reflections is a celebration of that passion. It speaks to the artist’s transformation and his belief in art’s quiet ability to heal, to connect, and to carry tradition into new forms. Through each luminous creation, Friday reflects on where he’s come from—and what it means to give shape to identity, memory, and spirit through fire and form. “
